Finn Mortensen from Denmark. MF165MP 1968

      Updated 12 Feb. 2006

This really good looking MF165 is still working a Finn's farm in Olgod, Denmark. The tractor is 37 years old (2005) and still looks great. Here is what the owner says: "Pictures shows a 1968 MF165 with the "4.203" engine. Not the strongest engine but runs smoothly compared to the later but stronger 4.212. The multi power makes the top speed approach 40km/h.

The tractor is still in use for light work like crop spraying, spraying fertilizer, towing light trailers etc. The advantage of the tractor is it is so light that it makes no damage at all to soil and crops. If you grew up with tractors like that, and I did, you can't do with out."

The " Family picture" Finn sent me this picture of his collection of MF tractors in February 2006. He says: "The MF690 is a 1982, 78hp, primary workhorse for many years, has now done more than 11.000h’s, still running and in use every day. The tractor in the middle is a MF6160, 1998, 105hp equipped with Trima 1495 loader"
THANKS for the pictures and information.

Markku from Finland. MF2620

Markku Raappana from Siikajoki Finland have sent pictures before. Some time ago when I asked if he had pictures of the 100 series, he didn't have the models I asked for , but he sent these pictures of a very good looking MF2620.
THANKS for the pictures and information.

  Ernst Wageneder, from Austria. MF1200

Ernst from Austria sent this nice pictures of his MF1200. He has been looking for a tractor like this for many years and happily found this one. The tractor was in need for some work and Ernst did a great job with it, see following pictures.

Left: Preparing for restoration.
Like it was when Ernst brought it.
The MF 1200 was built in England from 1972 until 1980. It had a Perkins A60354 engine rated to 105hp at 2400 rpm

Marc Esprit, from France. MF155

Marc Esprit from France, sent me these pictures of a French made MF155. Not a common tractor in my country and for sure one of the hardest Massey 100 tractors to find pictures of!!
THANKS for the pictures and information.

Updated 30.05.08

Jim, from England. MF298-V8, MF2680 and more

The MF298 before... The P510 onboard Ted Jim and Ted Test drive Working Jim's tractors

Above: Jim have one of the "hottest" looking 2-series tractors I have ever seen. A 298 with 4 big cylinder on each side of the tractor, two big exhaust pipes and two big free-float air filters. The whole job took about four months, working around two full days each week. Read on.

Jim and his friend Ted put a Perkins V8 in their MF298. The MF298 is originally born with a 4 cylinder 5.2 litre Perkins A4-318 engine ratet at 92 hp. Jim says: "The 298 project was a big one the engine is a Perkins 510 same as was put in the American 1150 MF'. We had to make conversion plates as the bell housings were totally different, that's a shame, we also had to make thousands of other adjustments like lengthening the whole tractor it was a real experience. We hoped the V8 would be 180 hp but it certainly is not, its about 120 which was a massive disappointment, another big problem is a normal tractor runs between like 600 rpm and 2400 this thing ticks over at 1100 and peaks at over 3000 so its totally uneconomical, you also have to rev it to about 2000 to move anything not like a 6cyl which will pull well  at low revs"

Right: Jim's  newest beast. A huge MF2680, biggest of the 26XX series. Powered by a 5.8 litre turbocharged, 6 cylinder engine. He also just got a 5 furrow plough, you can set it in action on the pictures.

 Updated 30.05.08

Jim have got some new "toys" lately. A big and strong mid 1990 MF-3645. You can see it on the pictures here. The 3645 have now done 7700 trouble free hours and have been upgraded with a Dromone hitch fro trailer pulling. For those not familiar with the MF-3600 series they Jim gives a short introduction:

"The 3645 is in the 3600 series which included the   3630, (Perkins 6354 engine) 130 hp 3650 (Perkins 6354 engine 150 hp), and 3680(Valmet 180hp engine) Those are the early models and the 3635,45,55,70 and 90  late models with Perkins 100.6 engines and larger Valmet engines all 3600 tractors had 7800Kgs lift on the arm and were a very strong tractor ahead of their time with electronics. The 3645 is 145 hp and uses the 100.6 Perkins 6000cc engine, it has the legendary Dynashift transmission, all 3600 series tractors came with the first Datatronic systems as standard which monitored forward speed, Pto speed, fuel used, wheelslip control, rpm etc"

Picture at left:  Jim and his 3645 together with friends and their Massey's carting silage. From left to right: Dougy MF-3095, Jaco MF-3090 and Jim MF-3645. On the picture at right you can see, Jim and Tim's MF-298 is still going strong. Take a look at the picture and note the engine! Not many V8-powerd MF-200 series tractors around.

THANKS for the pictures and information.

Damian Barnes from Ireland. MF575  and MF283 1:32

Damian sent this nice pictures of a model conversions of the Britain's toy MF595 from the 1970s. The model is 56mm wide, 115mm long and 56mm high. The scale is 1:32.  He says:  "I'm currently doing a Massey Ferguson 283, very popular in the Americas. I am doing the North American version assembled in Des Moines, Iowa. Here are a few of my next intended conversions: - Ford 4600 - MF 565 - MF 575 from 1980s - MF 135 Yellow with roll bar"
