In the cruiser category bigger is definitely better, and the new VN2000 is the largest V-Twin in the world. This high-powered flagship machine is unlike anything in the cruiser category. Complementing the engines massive size and impressive power output is an attractive style that mixes modern and traditional design in an highly integrated package.

Engine details

World Largest V-Twin Engine. As good looking as it is powerful and

smooth, the liquid-cooled, OHV 2053ccm3 engine splays its attractively tapered cylinders at 52 degrees.  The V-twin engine featuring a bore and stroke of 103 x 123.2mm, forged pistons, alloy-steel connecting rods, huge 220mm flywheels, dual cams located within the one-piece crankcase and right-side pushrods actuating four valves per cylinder. Hydraulic valve lash adjusters automatically maintain zero valve clearance for smoother, quieter operation.  To provide sharp throttle response at any rpm, the Vulcan 2000's electronic engine control unit (ECU) manages electronic fuel injection with its dual 46mm throttle bodies and sub throttle valves, as well as the iridium spark plug ignition system.

Engine details

Following the overall design of the VN2000, the engines dimensions are also long and low. Although stroke is 33 mm longer than that of the VN1500 engines, the VN2000 power plant is only 2 mm taller. A rugged 5/speed transmission delivers the reliability needed for the VN2000's massive torque output.

Styling that demands respect: The new headlamp with its triple-projector beam offers more evenly distributed illumination, for greater confidence when riding at night.  A conventional bulb is located below the three projector lamps is used for the high beam. When high beam is on all four elements are illuminated. The fuel tang is big,(21-litre) stretched and seamless. On top of the fuel tank there is a step-motor driven instrument console with a large speedometer features an easy to read LCD display including a fuel gauge and warning lamps.

Some technical stuff: The suspension have at front massive 49mm fork tubes, the rear shock (hidden under the seat) are adjustable for both preload and rebound damping. Brakes, at front dual 300mm discs operated by 4-piston callipers, at rear a huge 320mm disc, operated by twin-piston calliper.
